The Sou’West Vintage Fest has got to be one of the most colourful, chilled, entertaining days in WA’s south west. Aiming to bring together a community of vintage lovers to celebrate all things retro, the full-day event held every year in November is jam packed with good, ole fashioned fun. This year’s theme was beach party so the place was awash with bright leis, Hawaiian shirts and old-school surfboards. With plenty of family-friendly activities during the day and turning up the heat at night, it’s quickly become one of my favourite events and something I look forward to every year.
While some of the best food and drinks spots in the Margaret River region have been around for years, a whole lot of new places have cropped up recently to change things up.
Here are six of the best new kids on the block – and why you should pay them a visit.
I’m not going to lie – one of the reasons I love WA’s South West so much is because of its delicious produce.
With incredible wine, top class breweries and a couple of distilleries the region really holds its own – but it’s the food I get to bring home with me (if it survives the trip!) that keeps me coming back for more.
