I love that there’s always something to look forward to in Perth. When I first started blogging five years ago, the ‘Perth is boring’ sentiment was running strong. Thankfully these days that sentiment is starting to change. There is so much diversity in this little city of ours that there is always SOMETHING on – you just need to know where to look! This week, with an exhibition dedicated to one of Perth’s favourite actors, night markets, a food and wine festival, a chance to get up close with elephants, and an overnight event to get you in the mood for Halloween, you’re in the right place!
The clouds are clearing, the days are warming up, and Perth is really bringing its best with a whole bunch of awesome things on the radar as we head into summer. From a beer degustation and kustom culture celebration, to theatre, a moving historical exhibition and the city’s most stylish market, I’ve got the lowdown on the best things to see, eat and do in Perth this week.
Thanks to Black Swan State Theatre Company, I have a double pass to giveaway to their latest production, Coma Land, on Thursday 20 July 8:00pm in the Studio Underground of the State Theatre Centre. More details on how to win below!
Descend into the Studio Underground at the State Centre Theatre of WA and enter the bizarre, darkly funny and confronting world of Melbourne playwright Lally Katz’s The Eisteddfod.
After brother and sister Gerture and Abalone are left orphaned following a ‘pruning accident’, the pair retreat into their own world, agoraphobic, starved of human interaction and clinging to each other with both hope and resentment.
As the days get shorter and the nights colder, it can be tempting to hide away and hibernate through the winter months. Of course sometimes a night in binging on Netflix is just what you need, but don’t let the cold and rain stop you from exploring Perth this winter – there’s still plenty to see, eat and do!
Things are heating up in Perth, and with the temperature rising there’s never been a better time to get out and explore some of the best events, places and food the city has on offer.
