The world’s hottest all-male boylesque group are back with Perth with a brand new mashup of circus, drag, burlesque and comedy.

Having glitter-bombed the globe with their iconic and hilarious circus and variety stylings, Brisbane’s Briefs boys are back from an exploration of the third dimension with sci-fi and space themed debauchery, here to reassure us that everything will be OK in the future after a global shitstorm of a year.

Hitting out with glorious punk rock swagger, Briefs: Close Encounters is irreverently naughty, perverted-and-subversive fun, that will make you think, and feel.

Fringe World 2018: The Candy Box review

Imogen Kelly’s The Candy Box is a sweet choose-your-own-adventure style exploration of innovative and humorous burlesque, bringing together the impressive creativity of Australia’s Queen of Burlesque and World Queen of Burlesque 2012 with a talented cast of national performers for a highly entertaining night.

Known her creativity, impressive costumes and sexy-fun style, Imogen Kelly is burlesque royalty and it was an absolute treat to see her perform at Fringe World. Together with MC Christa Hughes – Australian singer (Machine Gun Felatio), circus performer and comedian – Imogen takes you on a glorious ride through some of her most spectacular, and most deranged, acts. Throw in special guests and cabaret stars, and you have a mixed Candy Box of fine confections.

Fringe World 2018: My top picks

It’s time to say goodbye to boring and hello to Fringe World Festival 2018! There is already a buzz of excitement in the air, as Perth gets ready to treat you to world-class performances from 26th January until 25th February.

Fringe World is one of the most anticipated arts and cultural events on WA’s calendar – and so it should be, considering it’s now the third biggest Fringe Festival in the world with more than 750 shows across 130 venues.

This year some of my favourites are back with new shows, the best venues are at it again, and there are a few new thigs thrown into the mix – like Noodle Palace moving from its iconic spot in Northbridge to Elizabeth Quay; the super fun Ice Cream Factory just down the road from the Pleasure Garden; the Showman’s Fair at the Urban Orchid in Fringe Central (a Dutch mini-festival with live performances and a long-table dining experience); and more hubs and venues opening up around the outer-suburbs to make Fringe even more accessible.

So, where do you even start when it comes to deciding which of the 750 shows to see? With my top picks, of course!
