Beauty Bites January

Let’s just skip right over the fact that I’ve been too busy to get a December edition of this feature done and move straight on to checking out some of the products I’ve been using lately. I spent two weeks in Victoria over Christmas and New Year’s, and these are the products that came with me.

Bare Botanics Calm Organic Hydrating Mist

This was absolutely my favourite product for travelling and I’ll be sure to take it with me next time I travel. I am prone to dry skin so it was great for spritzing on the plane or while on long road trips. We did a couple of big treks while we were away, on crazy hot days, so this was a lifesaver to help me cool down and freshen up after sweating off sunscreen and bug spray. It’s got rose and chamomile to soothe the skin, and importantly for me it doesn’t contain any citrus oils, which can irritate my skin. I picked this up from The Tasty Pear in Bassendean.

Would I buy it again? 100% yes!

Cancer Council.JPG

Cancer Council Active Dry Touch Sunscreen

This 35ml travel-sized sunscreen came in the last Priceline skin care bag, and it was super handy while I was on holidays. I’m pretty good at using sunscreen when I know I’m going to be outside, but there were a few times when the crazy Victorian weather had me fooled and halfway through the day the sun would come out in full force, so I found myself reaching for this a lot. It’s SPF50+ and four hours water resistant so it offers strong protection, and the dry touch formula means it absorbs well without leaving you feeling greasy or gritty. This sunscreen is easy to find at places including Priceline, Chemist Warehouse and Amcal.

Would I buy it again? I’d only get this small size again for travel, but would definitely get a full size for everyday use next summer.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Wipes

Yes! I freaking love these! These were a freebie in the Priceline skincare bag as well, but I have used them before. They’re one of the few brands of face wipes that don’t make my eyes sting so that’s a big win for me! They were also super handy while I was away for freshening up on hot days and wiping off bug spray and sunscreen once I was safely indoors. These are readily available at Target and most chemists.

Would I buy it again? Absolutely.

Batiste Dry Shampoo Clean & Classic Original

How did we even use to get by without dry shampoo? I generally only wash my hair once a week so dry shampoo is a necessity on my roots by the end of the week. I also love it for lightening up my roots when they need bleaching. I purchased this one because of its handy travel size and it lasted my whole two weeks away. Once again you can grab this at Priceline, chemists, Target and even at the airport.

Would I buy it again? Yes, but not in this size or scent (unless I was travelling).

La Roche Posay.JPG

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Mains Barrier Repairing Cream

Thanks to the Priceline skincare bag this was another great sized product for travelling with. I had it in my handbag and used it every day on my hands and even arms/legs as needed. This is a really thick formula but it’s clear and has no scent. It’s super moisturising but doesn’t absorb as quick as some other products, just because it is so thick. If you’re travelling it’s a great multi-use product because it is so gentle that you can use it anywhere – I even used it to help tame my frizzy hair! Get it from Priceline and Chemist Warehouse.

Would I buy it again? Unsure, I have a few other hand creams to get through first.

Thank you hand sanitiser.JPG

Thank You Antibacterial Lemon Lime Hand Sanitiser

Hand sanitiser is a must have for me when I travel, even if it is domestically. You never know when you might need it – on the plane, at the sketchy drop toilet at the beach, when you spill a drink while you’re on the road…trust me, you won’t want to be without one. Normally I just go for the cheaper brand but I’m glad I gave this one I try, it smells so much nicer, I quite like the bottle, and as with all Thank You products  its vegan, not tested on animals and the profits go to people in need. Win win win! You’ll find this one in store at Chemmart, Priceline and Woolworths.

Would I buy it again? Yes.
